Date and time: This event can be held whenever you or your facility is available, but it might best in the fall to add those wonderful fall colors. |

Budget: One hundred dollars to one thousand. |

Location: You can have this party at home, at a local farm, or a park. |

Layout: Outside: hay stacks, ropes hanging over fence. Entry: any costume items. Food area: open campfire or grill, bandanas on log stools to sit and eat on. |

Record event: Professional photographer/videographer or friends and family. |
||||||
Transportation: Hay wagon from local farmer. |
||||||
Costumes: Chaps, bandanas, hats, badges, snap guns. |

Invitations: Send a trail map with party information along the trail. You're invited on a cattle drive so load up the wagons! across the top of map in western type, name of guest of honor on a chuck wagon, party reason in cactus scene, date and time in a sun, party location in mountains, any other party info: RSVP etc in other western graphics. Print on beige paper, crumple and flatten, send it with a magnifying glass and a bandana which they must wear to party. |

Decorate: Turn a picnic table into chuck wagon: bend heavy electrical wire into arch cover with white sheet, play country & western music, have a campfire with logs to sit and eat on around it, cowboy boots as centerpieces, branding irons, horseshoes, get or make some fake cow chips. |

Food: Western is the way to go! Cook some slop over the campfire (franks and beans), serve it up with a ladle into metal bowls, and a cup o' Joe (hot chocolate or iced tea) in metal mugs, beef jerky and ribs don't forget to give out toothpicks to clean yer' teeth. |

Activities: When guests arrive have them sign bandana, in a way that they will know this one is theirs, then pass them around for all to sign using permanent markers. This will be a great keepsake of the party. Make your own chaps: using brown Kraft paper (or fabric) and yarn (or shoelaces) to tie around legs. Have a spittin' contest: biggest, sloppiest, farthest... Have some ropin' n' ridin' games: hire someone to do or teach rope tricks, then have a ropin' contest with a stuffed animal. Have a bronco riding contest: saddle (with a rug around it) mounted attached to heavy rope tied to trees. Chuck wagon race: using children's wagons, have teams load up their supplies, race to point, round up some animals, sing a campfire song, then race to destination and get paid. Hire dance instructor to teach country line dancing, and have a dance. |
