People in the United States.

What is it?
The annual championship football game between the best of the conferences in the National Football League (NFL).

Why did it get started?
The first Super Bowl was on January 15, 1967, in Los Angeles, CA, between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs, the Packers won 35-10. Since then it has been held in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Michigan, Minnesota, Georgia and Arizona. Before the game the national anthem is sung by a famous singer of the day, there are also performances during half-time. After the game, the winning quarterback gets to go to Disney World, and a player is chosen the Most Valuable Player (MVP).

How do people celebrate it?
Most people gather around any available television to watch the game with family and friends. A Super Bowl party wouldn't be complete without lots of food and drink. And the hope that after the game, they may win lots of money from a publishing company.
